All-new UEA website debuts with members-only content
Welcome to the all-new UEA website. In addition to an updated look, the new site includes an exclusive UEA members-only section (login required) with access to professional development materials, bargaining and negotiation data, the UEA evaluation toolkit and much more.
UEA members will need their member number to log on to the members-only site for the first time. After that, the username and password can be changed.
"We are very excited about the improved look, navigation and accessibility the new website provides," said Mike Kelley, UEA director of Communications and Public Relations. "The addition of a members-only area also gives us opportunities to share new content. Combined with our other publications, we hope UEA members will feel connected with their Association and become involved in all the networking options available."
The website is key element in the UEA’s communication structure, which includes:
Creation of the new website began with a focus group of teachers who reviewed the current website in December 2013. The teachers shared likes and dislikes and provided feedback to improve the site.
A new feature users of handheld devices will notice is the site’s “responsive design” which detects a user’s screen size and adjusts the format accordingly.
The site will feature access to UEA publications, legal services and member benefits, in addition to dedicated sections for UEA leaders. The new website also highlights social media with links to UEA’s Facebook and Twitter pages, and expanded access to video and blog features.
Anyone who currently has a bookmark or links from another website to the pages on the old website site may need to update those links.
"Our goal is to continually improve our communications, and especially the experience UEA members have when visiting myUEA.org. We encourage everyone to take some time to look around the new site and provide us with feedback." said Kelley.
